HRD

Pimsiri ‘Mook’ Petchnamrob (Thai: พิมพ์สิริ "มุก" เพชรน้ำรอบ) is a Bangkok-based woman human rights defender and pro-democracy activist with over 15 years of experience advancing civil and political rights in Thailand and the wider region. She has been a consistent and principled voice for democratic reform, civic space, and LGBTQ+ rights. Pimsiri ‘Mook’ Petchnamrob has contributed to Thai and regional pro-democracy movements and has held leadership roles across civil society. She has worked for several civil society organisations, including FORUM-ASIA and ARTICLE 19, and serves as one of the Board Members the Thailand chapter of Amnesty International.

Pimsiri ‘Mook’ Petchnamrob has faced judicial harassment by Thai authorities for protecting and promoting human rights in light of Thailand’s shrinking civic space, the increasing restrictions on freedom of expression, and the targeting of human rights defenders across the country. The violations against Pimsiri ‘Mook’ Petchnamrob exemplify the deeply troubling pattern of judicial harassment directed at women human rights defenders and pro-democracy activists in Thailand.
