Lesner Figueroa

Lesner Figueroa is a Bribri indigenous leader and human rights defender from the Tuadiwak clan, in the Bribri territory of Salitre. He is a member of the Concejo Ditso Iriria Ajkonuk Wakpa, an organisation that defends the rights of the Bribri people.

For many years, he has worked in defence of human rights, particularly in the area of land rights. Lesner supports the territory reaffirmation social movements which were initiated by his colleague Sergio Rojas, who was murdered on the land.
