Jovana Kisin Zagajac

Jovana Kisin Zagajac is a woman human rights defender, well-known lawyer and dedicated advocate for fundamental human rights in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her legal work focuses on protecting the right to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, environmental protection, non-discrimination, and the prohibition of torture by law enforcement agencies. She is widely recognised for her outspoken advocacy and consistent defense of journalists, environmental activists, protestors, and marginalised communities. Jovana Kisin Zagajac has collaborated on numerous projects with organizations such as the Council of Europe, the United Nations (UN), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), local environmental groups, and associations advocating for women's rights and broader human rights. Her work has brought her into conflict with authorities, resulting in harassment, attacks, and systemic repression.
