Enongandé Myrriam Hélèna CAPO-CHICHI CHOUBADE is a woman human rights defender and Beninese socio-anthropologist working on gender equality and the fight against gender-based violence. For more than two decades, she has been engaged in advocating for the protection of women’s and girls’ rights, supporting survivors of violence, and promoting accountability and access to justice. Through her work with civil society and her NGO Famille-Nutrition-Développement, she combines research, community action, and advocacy to strengthen prevention and response mechanisms to gender-based violence in Benin.

She has played an important role in raising public awareness about gender-based violence, documenting cases, supporting survivors’ access to medical, psychosocial, and legal assistance, and engaging with authorities, media, and civil society to promote structural reforms.

She is also an active member of several human rights organisations, including RIFONGA-Benin, AWLN-Benin, the Benin Feminist Network and the Coalition of Human Rights Defenders in Benin.
