Hanin Bushosha
Hanin Bushosha is a woman human rights defender, Gender and Governance Researcher, and founder of the Nuasi Organization for Gender Equality. In wartime Libya, she worked with community leaders and tribes, forming part of negotiations to minimise violence, including opening humanitarian corridors in Darna and Benghazi. Her work with the Libyan government was crucial, given that she was the Gender Advisor for the Minister of Women and Parliament committees.
Hanin was also one of the founders of the newborn civil society in Libya, helping to establish many NGOs and CSO networks such as Shabab Alnahda, Shahed Network, and the women's movements Women's Alliance for Peace in Libya and the Middle East. Using her expertise in international human rights mechanisms, she has supported Libyan NGOs to prepare and submit their shadow reports to the Human Rights Council for UPRs.
