Nou Pap Dòmi

Vélina Élysée Charlier is a feminist, political activist, and woman human rights defender. She is a member of Nou Pap Dòmi, a Haitian civil society organisation that campaigns for social justice. Nou Pap Dòmi contributes to the fight against corruption, impunity, and establishment of good governance through initiatives like the "Petrocaribe Challenge" anti-corruption movement. The Petrocaribe Challenge brought together thousands of Haitians to demand an audit of the aid programme Venezuela offered to Haiti and led to many peaceful demonstrations and sit-ins in Port-au-Prince.

Through Vélina’s political involvement, she hopes to encourage other Haitians, in particular young people, to take a different approach to politics.
