Rebecca Odhiambo

Rebecca Odhiambo is a non-binary, queer feminist, advocate and woman human rights defender. She is also a policy and project management professional and writer. Rebecca is an experienced qualitative and quantitative researcher, with 18 years of experience, centring on feminist participatory action and research, trauma-informed facilitation, and intersectional activism, all to give voice to the invisible and challenging structural and social barriers that lesbian, bisexual, queer, and trans persons born female (LBQT persons) face in the Western Kenyan context.

Most recently, Rebecca became the Programmes Coordinator and Research Director of Women Empower and Mentor All CBO (WEmpower), an LBQT feminist organization based in Kisumu, Kenya. Women Empower is a member-based organization which focuses on collective well-being and health equity for LGBT persons through mental health promotion, economic empowerment, community building, and advocacy and social political action.
