Mohamed al-Najem is a Libyan journalist and consultant in the structural and legal reform programs of the media. He has been President of the Libyan Center for Press Freedom since 2014. A former journalist for France 24 Arabia and freelancer in several Arab satellite agencies and channels, he is an activist on freedom of expression, media and democratic transformation in Libya.
While the conflict in Libya remains the main source of risk and insecurity for HRDs, human rights activism is also constrained by limitations on freedom of association, peaceful assembly and expression.
