Ma Lianshun is a Zhengzhou-based human rights lawyer. He has defended those who have protested against forced demolitions and land grabs, HRDs commemorating the Tiananmen Square massacre and fellow lawyers who have been arrested because of their work. He has been questioned, surveilled, harrased, detained and beaten.
