Luc Agblakou
Luc Agblakou is a human rights educator and defender for LGBTQI+ rights in Benin. He is the Founding President of Hirondelle Club International, the first LGBTQI+ organization promoting integration in the country. As a result of his work, LGBTQI+ people have been taken into account in the strategic plan to combat HIV/AIDS in Benin. Additionally, he has worked with the Beninese courts to secure three rulings that openly condemn LGBTQI+-phobic acts, promoting the protection of the LGBTQI+ community.
In 2022, his leadership and commitment to the defence of human rights was recognised, and he was nominated by the U.S. Embassy to participate in the U.S. State Department's International International Visitor Leadership Program. In 2023, he was also invited to participate in the PRIDE HEROES program.
