Ivi Oliveira

Ivi Oliveira is the Protection Manager for The Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa at Front Line Defenders, where she supports the organization’s strategic response to human rights defenders at risk, ensuring holistic and effective protection and support are provided at a global level. Ivi has worked for the past 15 years with local and international organizations and networks, as well as with different UN Agencies, with particular focus in the protection of human rights defenders. Before her role as Protection Manager, Ivi was Front Line Defenders’ Protection Coordinator for the Americas, while also supporting the work in Portuguese speaking countries in Africa. Ivi Oliveira believes in the centrality of defenders' perspective in building mechanisms or strategies that can strengthen their protection, as well as in the power of exchange of knowledge and practices for the construction and strengthening of these strategies.
