Itzia Miravete

Itzia Miravete is a Mexican WHRD with 12 years of experience in human rights and HRD protection. She has worked with Centro de Derechos Humanos Zeferino Ladrillero, the Movement for Our Disappeared in Mexico, and Article 19, where she coordinated protection and advocacy work regarding the protection of journalists until 2023. Itzia is a lawyer from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) with a specialisation in human rights and a Masters degree in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex, UK.

Since September 2024, she has been the acting Capacity Development coordinator for the Americas at Front Line Defenders. She provides practical support to HRDs to strengthen their capacities to analyse, manage, and mitigate the risks they face and build their longer term protection from a human rights, feminist and intersectional perspective.
