Hilda Nayibe Hurtado España
Hilda Nayibe Hurtado España is currently the Legal Representative of África Viva en las Mujeres de los Consejos Comunitarios del Pacifico Sur Nariñense -AFRIMUCPAS-, the organization of women of the community councils of the black Afro-Colombian of the Nariñense subregion of the South Pacific. Hilda carries out technical and representative support in RECOMPAS and accompanies Afro-Colombian communities, particularly women, in the defense of their human and land rights in the context of the Colombian peace process. Hilda is the former legal representative of RECOMPAS (Red de Consejo Comunitarios del Pacífico Sur - South Pacific Community Council Network), a civil society organization composed of 18 Community Councils of the Black Afro-Colombian community of the Nariñense South Pacific subregion in Colombia.
HRDs in Colombia work in a violent and unsafe environment. They are subjected to threats, intimidation, arbitrary detention, enforced disappearances, physical assaults, torture, killings, illegal searches of their homes and offices and stigmatisation as a result of their activities in defence of human rights.
