Danilo Mairoce

Danilo Mairoce is a human rights defender from Mozambique and the Executive Director of the Civil Society Platform of Manica Province. He works to involve human rights defenders in monitoring and advocacy programmes for good governance.

Through his work he has brought together human rights defenders and community-based organisations to carry out social audit projects, and defended rural communities against the government's expropriation of their land to make way for forestry plantations. The organisation has also supported defenders at risk to improve their physical safety and psychological well-being.
