Besna Tosun

Besna Tosun is a woman human rights defender and a member of the Human Rights Association Istanbul Branch Commission against Disappearances in Custody, and the Central Executive Committee of the Human Rights Association. Besna witnessed the enforced disappearance of her father, Fehmi Tosun, when he was taken into custody in front of their house on October 19, 1995. Since then, together with the Saturday Mothers, she has been waging a struggle for truth and justice for people forcibly disappeared in custody.
