Álvaro Gómez del Valle - Advocacy Officer
In his role as Advocacy Officer, Álvaro supports human rights defenders at risk through targeted advocacy at the national, regional and international level, including with the European Union and the United Nations. Prior to joining the organization, he worked at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), where he specialized on gender and security, and freedom of religion or belief; with the European Union in the Lao PDR; and with the Club de Madrid - World Leadership Alliance. He is a graduate of the European Master's Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation (EMA). He has written about China's normative impact on human rights, and on post-democratic systems, among other topics. He is a NATO Fellow as part of the NATO 2030 Global Fellowship Program.
