INPT holds rally at Agartala, [8/8/2012]

INPT today held a massive rally at Agartala to protest against the false case against its leader Mr Jamu Debbarma and demanding CBI probe into the killing of innocent Tripuris at Jirania.

Mr Jamu was recently declared a fugitive by the State Police and his photo was published in the local dailies. He was charged with having a link with an extrmist group. However he made himself available before the CID and he was questioned and set free as the CID could not prove the claim they made.

According to reports received, "Thousands throng to the state capital today in support of Mr Jamu and demanded an end to the harassment of its leader with false cases.

The crowds also demanded that the CBI carry out an investigation into the Jirania murder case where two Tripuirs were murdered by bengali hooligans.

The INPT leaders present in the protest rally said that the state government is busy finding new false cases against its leader ahead of assembly elections. The INPT leaders protest against such move to link their leader with the ban extrmist group".
