Central Broadcasting Service (CBS) radio journalist Ronald Ssembuusi has been told by a court in Kalangala on 28 November 2012 that he will face trial after accusations of defamation were made against him by Central Uganda region district Chairman David Kikoola.

On 26 November 2012, around 4pm, human rights defender Mr Antonio González Rodiles was released after 19 days in Acosta police station in Havana. In order to obtain his freedom he had to pay a fine of 800 Cuban pesos (approx. 23 EUR). Antonio had been detained during a wave of arrests and beatings of human rights defenders on 7 November 2012.
